Microservice Developer

We are looking for a Microservice Developer to take a key role in our drive to modernize software development within the DoD. You’ll help us develop some seriously advanced military tech. We’re developing advanced microservice-based that will revolutionize the complex systems of warfare and make them more agile and responsive. As part of a digital strike team, you will help design and execute rapid software development projects to meet critical mission needs.

With a strong path for professional growth, you will use modern technologies (i.e. Kubernetes, Helm, Message Queues, Istio, Protobuf) and practices to work with a small, dedicated team on building a new software architecture. In this role, you will utilize DevSecOps to help build advanced microservice-based architectures for mission-critical systems. This new project has plenty of room for you to be creative and innovative. (There's no maintaining someone else's legacy code here!) Our on-site team utilizes modern development practices to engage with our client on highly specialized (and interesting) problems. We value beautiful, well-tested, high-quality code. We leverage automation wherever possible. (You aren't still using a coding style guide like its 2010, are you?)

The right candidate is ready to step in and grow themselves. We are looking for a well-rounded software engineer, well-versed in solid design principles, and ready to hit the ground running designing and implementing advanced software.

In this role, you will utilize DevSecOps to help build advanced microservice-based architectures for mission-critical systems. This is an exciting and dynamic role. And if you are the kind of engineer whose passion is apparent and thrives in an ever-changing environment, we should talk.

  • Identifying and understanding microservice development issues
  • Designing and implementing cloud-scale solutions using the latest technologies you help specify. (i.e. Kubernetes, Helm, Envoy, Ansible, Vagrant, Docker, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Istio, gRPC, etc.)
  • Designing solutions and overseeing their implementation
  • Working with a diverse and talented team on next-generation problems

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • U.S. Citizen able to obtain a national security clearance (Secret, Top Secret, SCI)
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field preferred
  • Experience with microservice architecture development
  • Demonstrated project ownership, not just participation
  • Aren’t a punch-the-clock engineer. You have a real passion for your work and never worry about overcoming roadblocks.

WE THINK YOU’LL CLICK WITH US IF YOU:

  • You’re cool under pressure. You’re a true consultative leader, whether you’re collaborating with your team or working with clients
  • Possess high standards and strive to deliver beautiful solutions
  • Insist on seeing your projects through from start to finish- Stay sharp in your craft by keeping on top of new tools and staying abreast of what’s going on in your field

YOU’LL GROW WITH US BY:

  • Having whole-problem responsibility — and the leadership to take on new processes, platforms, daily practices, and tools
