Senior Microservice Developer

We are looking for a Senior Microservice Developer to take a key role in our drive to modernize software development within the DoD. You’ll help us develop some seriously advanced military tech. We’re developing advanced microservice-based, unified-force architecture to serve across all domains—land, sea, air, space, cyber, and electromagnetic spectrum—that will revolutionize the complex systems of warfare and make them more agile and responsive.

In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of DevOps/DevSecOps pipelines and automation, as well as our advanced microservice-based architectures for mission-critical systems. We want you to leverage your experience and knowledge to advance our team and deepen the synergy between our DevOps processes, the target platform, and automation. You’ll also use it to represent our skill and dedication to quality and security when visiting client sites. It’s an exciting and dynamic role. And if you are the kind of engineer whose passion is apparent and thrives in an ever-changing environment, we should talk.

YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:

  • Identifying and understanding microservice development issues
  • Designing and implementing cloud-scale solutions using the latest technologies you help specify. (i.e. Kubernetes, Helm, Envoy, Ansible, Vagrant, Docker, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Istio, gRPC, etc.)
  • Designing solutions and overseeing their implementation
  • Working with a diverse and talented team on next-generation problems
  • Traveling to support our client’s mission (up to 25%)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • U.S. Citizen with an active SECRET security clearance
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field preferred
  • 8+ years’ experience in microservice architecture development
  • Experience with DevOps (i.e. Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab, scripting, deployment tools, server management tools)
  • Previous Government Sector Experience
  • Demonstrated project ownership, not just participation
  • Aren’t a punch-the-clock engineer. You have a real passion for your work and never worry about overcoming roadblocks or how cool a project is - in fact you find ways to make uncool projects cool

WE THINK YOU’LL CLICK WITH US IF YOU:

  • Speaking of cool, you’re cool under pressure. You’re a true consultative leader, whether you’re collaborating with your team or working with clients
  • Possess high standards and strive to deliver beautiful solutions
  • Insist on seeing your projects through from start to finish- Stay sharp in your craft by keeping on top of new tools and staying abreast of what’s going on in your field
  • Are open-minded, appreciate direct feedback, and revel in intellectually rigorous environments

YOU’LL GROW WITH US BY:

  • Having whole-problem responsibility — and the leadership to take on new processes, platforms, daily practices, and tools
  • Working in small teams — we emphasize agile, mission-driven work; not monolithic waterfall projects
  • Collaborating with experts in their fields, becoming one of a handful of the world’s sharpest and most engaged minds

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

It’s important to us that you have what you need to do your job best. We know that’s more than just loving what you do. At Hellebore, we offer industry-leading salaries and a full benefits package, including a profit-sharing 401k, comprehensive insurance, and 10 Federal holidays. In addition, we have a generous Paid-Paid Vacation policy: You’ll get 20 days of paid time off, and we’ll give you $5,000 a year to spend on vacation-related expenses.
