Senior Lead Software Engineer

Champion the development of innovative software architectures that accelerate the delivery of high-fidelity, highly scalable synthetic environments.

In this position, you will revolutionize the customer’s software development practices. The Senior Lead Software Engineer will work directly with the client to understand evolving requirements and identify key technologies and architecture design patterns used by the team. This role involves leading multiple agile development teams and will oversee the instantiation of an innovative, cloud-scale immersive environment unlike any ever imagined.

This is a senior leadership position.

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer, you must be a champion for DevSecOps, bringing modern commercial best practices to DoD programs. You must understand the balance of culture and technology that leads to successful DevSecOps teams. This role involves establishing and enforcing coding standards for the larger development team. The right candidate will be assertive yet open-minded while leading a team of dedicated software engineers.

In your role, you will ensure our architectures deliver performance, reliability, and scalability. You will lead the implementation of a cloud-scale DevSecOps pipeline in which the environment and its components will be developed, analyzed, tested, secured, and delivered. You will develop plans, define architecture elements, and serve as a trusted consultant in all aspects of software development, including cybersecurity and IT. Prior to software development efforts, you will establish the team’s software engineering practices and standards. Outside of the software development team, you will interface with client leadership, industry partners, and other external clients. You must continually maintain an awareness and understanding of cutting-edge software development updates through academic research, conference participation, and industry forums.

Hellebore utilizes modern development practices to engage with our clients on highly specialized (and interesting) problems. We value beautiful, well-tested, high-quality code. To get there, we leverage automation wherever possible.

It takes all types to make Hellebore great. If you are someone who enjoys creating innovative ways to reach ambitious goals, who is open to and energized by receiving honest feedback, and is comfortable in a start-up environment: we should talk.
