Lead Modeling and Simulation Engineer

As the Lead Modeling and Simulation Engineer, you will champion the development of innovative simulation architectures that accelerate the delivery of critical military technology to the warfighter.

In this position, you will revolutionize the customer’s software development practices. The Lead Modeling and Simulation Engineer will work directly with the client to understand evolving requirements and identify key technologies and architecture design patterns used by the team. This role involves standing up multiple agile development teams and will oversee the instantiation of a DevSecOps pipeline.

This is a senior leadership position.

As the Lead Modeling and Simulation Engineer, you must be a champion for DevSecOps, bringing modern commercial best practices to DoD programs. You must understand the balance of culture and technology that leads to successful DevSecOps teams. This role involves establishing and enforcing coding standards for the larger M&S team. The right candidate will be assertive yet open-minded while leading a team of modeling and simulation engineers. The right candidate will have a familiarity with weapon systems and real-time simulation technology.

The Lead Modeling and Simulation Engineer will develop plans, define architecture elements, and serve as a trusted consultant in all aspects of software development, including security and IT. Prior to software development efforts, you will establish the team’s software engineering practices and standards. You will lead code reviews during software development and provide feedback to engineers on bug fixes, code design, and performance. Outside of the software development team, you will interface with client leadership, industry partners, and other external clients. You must continually maintain an awareness and understanding of cutting-edge software development updates through academic research, conference participation, and industry forums.
