DevSecOps Engineer

In support of Hellebore's DevSecOps culture and digital thread/digital transformation of software development, the DevSecOps Engineer is tasked with the engineering of DevSecOps information technology services along with bringing extensible automation to traditional information technology operations tasks.

The DevSecOps Engineer will be embedded in our software team and is responsible for the ecosystem supporting software development including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD pipeline) tools. This includes supporting the needs of Hellebore's development and delivery process through automation at both the development and production level. The DevSecOps Engineer is tasked with providing full collaborative operational support of the development ecosystem including overseeing all DevSecOps infrastructure service stability and uptime, as well as the infrastructure that hosts the code. This entails multiple specialties in the areas of infrastructure, configuration control, testing, security, automation, containerization, orchestration, cloud services, software development, and open source technologies.

You will adapt to a dynamic set of challenges while leveraging your experience and knowledge to advance our team. We need an engaged engineer, passionate about technology. The right candidate is ready to step in and grow themselves. We are looking for a dedicated software engineer, well-versed in DevSecOps, and ready to hit the ground running.

With a strong path for professional growth, you will use modern DevSecOps ecosystems and development practices to help advance a strong, dedicated team-building software for mission-critical systems. This new project has plenty of room for you to be creative and innovative.

It takes all types to make Hellebore great. If you are someone who enjoys creating innovative ways to reach ambitious goals, who is open to and energized by receiving honest feedback and is comfortable in a start-up environment: we should talk.

WE THINK YOU’LL CLICK WITH US IF YOU:

  • Aren’t a punch-the-clock engineer — technology has always been pervasive in your life, from building drones to contributing to open source sites
  • Possess high standards and strive to deliver beautiful solutions
  • Insist on seeing your projects through from start to finish
  • Stay sharp in your craft by keeping on top of new tools and staying abreast of what’s going on in your field
  • Are open-minded, appreciate direct feedback, and revel in intellectually rigorous environments

YOU’LL GROW WITH US BY:

  • Having whole-problem responsibility — we don’t feed engineers features and bugs to fulfill
  • Working in small teams — we emphasize agile, mission-driven work; not monolithic waterfall projects
  • Collaborating with experts in their fields, becoming one of a handful of the world’s sharpest and most engaged minds

YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:

  • Working with some seriously advanced tech
  • Working with a diverse and talented team on next-generation problems
  • Working with the Development, Engineering, Architecture, Security, and Testing teams to mature, enhance, and engineer the suite of tools and processes for the continuous delivery pipeline
  • Evolving the Engineering and support of the DevSecOps services (on-premise or cloud-based IaaS/PaaS) including its Windows and Linux-based server and client operating systems
  • Optimizing and automating the DevSecOps virtual environment, its compute, memory, storage, and related hyper-converged infrastructure
  • Implementing and enabling self-service for developers through automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
  • Standardizing on tooling and processes across large and small-scale agile enterprise DevSecOps environments
  • Working with the Security Lead to ensure that the tools are compliant with security requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • U.S. Citizen with a current national security clearance (i.e. Secret, Top Secret, SCI)
  • A degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or another related technical field
  • Demonstrated project ownership, not just participation
  • Knowledge of the DevOps culture, principles, and pipeline tools
  • Strong lateral and vertical teamwork and communication skills
  • Strong writing and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of programs such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Kubernetes, Jira, Artifactory, Gitlab, Docker, and AWS services
  • Knowledge of DevOps pipeline testing tools, including SAST/DAST/IAST applications and services

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • It’s important to us that you have what you need to do your job best. We know that’s more than just loving what you do. At Hellebore, we are proud to offer industry-leading benefits.
